This site details (with links to documentary evidence in margin right) how the acquisition of the Parthenon marbles and other artifacts by Elgin was a crime and the British Government was complicit in the crime when they paid Elgin for the booty.
Theft, sacrilegious plunder of tombs and bribery and corruption all featured in Elgin's adventures in Greece and today with new information available a fresh attempt is being made to have the police in Fife and London investigate these crimes.
There is also a possibility that artifacts from the sacking of the Chinese Old Summer Palace in 1860 are also now in Scotland and the police are also asked to investigate this.
Scotland's reputation has long been tarnished by association with the name that has become a byword for Imperial looting and it is hoped that by the restoration of the Parthenon Marbles the reputation of Scotland as a compassionate and fair nation would also be restored.
The order of service for the Blog begins with Police (complaint to Fife & Metropolitan Forces) which cites 5 pieces of new evidence for consideration. Parts One to Five then detail the exact nature of the evidence with links to documents/photographs which it is hoped will persuade the police to investigate cases of possession of stolen property from Greece, China and elsewhere.
